James Weaver aided in building the first schoolhouse in the Town of Lisbon;his home was the first meeting place of the English Episcopal Church prior tothe construction of Saint Alban’s, now in the Village of Sussex, LisbonTownship, Waukesha County, Wisconsin.
James was the first to introduce hop-growing to the Town of Lisbon and to theentire State of Wisconsin.

monument of Scotch granite, costing $1,300, hasbeen erected to the memory of James Weaver at St. Alban’s Cemetery. It is thelargest monument in the cemetery for this father of 16 children.”
