He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Daisy (nee Nichols) on May 22, 1998. Harvey was a quarry worker in Lannon for six years. He retired from Miller Brewery in 1976, after 35 years as a foreman. Elected in 1947, he served as Lannon village treasurer for 37 years. Harvey played baseball for Lannon in the Land-O-Lakes baseball league as a pitcher and an outfielder. In 1938/ he tried out for a pitcher position for the St Louis Cardinals, but was told he was too old at the age of 24. Harvey is a member of the baseball Land-O-Lakes Hall of Fame, voted in as a member in 1964. Also excelling in many other sports at Menomonee Falls high school, he earned letters in football, basketball, track and baseball. He joined the Lannon Fire Department in 1939 when his father was fire chief. Harvey served as assistant chief for eight years. He also served on the Sunnyside Cemetery board for many years. Harvey was a lifetime member of St Johns Lutheran Church Lannon. Funeral Services Friday January 19, 2007 at 1:30 PM at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 20851 W. Main St., Lannon.
