Dawn of Creation Band

The beginning of Peace Valley Connection was actually kind of a union of people from three Sussex Hamilton bands that were going through some changes due to members graduating and other changes. The most well known and accomplished group was “We Return” formerly known as the “Reason Why.” The members of this group included Steve Fuller, Mike Truttschel, Dave Dubnicka, Tom Leipzig and Norm Gauthier. The second most popular group was “The Dawn of Creation.” Their members included John Rickinger, Del Johnson, Rich Piontek and sometimes Mike Truttschel played with them.

May 5, 2015 via FB: “Nice article [Peace Valley Connection]… some musicians not mentioned, Dawn of Creation included Rich Piontek (guitar), Tom Sugars (lead), Greg Rewe (keys) and myself (drums)… and Mike T on occasion. We had the two brothers from Menomonee Falls High that played horn before Dean Joecks.”

. That’s going back. Was that the group that had Rich’s cousin Doug in it for a bit? January 21, 2013 at 10:32pm

Early 1968-1969. Nope, that was Rich, Tom Sugars, Greg and myself. You stepped in when our keyboard player moved to New Mexico. You might have been between bands…I think you were just ending being with Tom Liepzig and others with Revolutionary Kind? Another good band. January 22, 2013 at 7:02am

Mike Truttschel I was in The Reason Why with Tom, Steve Fuller, Dave Dubnicka and Norm Gauthier from 1968 to 1971. The band changed names during that time to We Return when Steve moved up North and we had Mike Jurczak, Dave Segebarth and Paul Reicher in and out. I remember Revolutionary Kind but I was never a member. Some of the memories are a little fuzzy but then again, it WAS the 60’s. January 22, 2013 at 9:01am

John F Rickinger So many bands back then and a few years have past…Before Dawn of Creation, I played drums for a Waukesha band where Lee Jabs (science teacher) was the keyboard player. He and the other members were in their 30’s… I was 14-15 and my dad chaperoned me for eight months. I remember. I sat in with a band out of Menomonee Falls a few times called the Revolutionary Kind…you were the Reason Why…then yes then We Return. Steve Fuller was one of the original members of the PVC band. Steve played lead, Mark played bass, Bob Inda keys, Dean Joecks trumpet, Dean Nolde sax, Dan Everett and myself drums…I did a lot of lead singing too. January 22, 2013
