Passing of Pioneer – One of the Early Settlers of the Town of Lisbon Dead
Lisbon, Oct. 21. – On Oct. 19 Frederick Keebler, while sitting in his
chair, peacefully passed away. he was born in Wittenberg, Germany, on
the Rhine, May 23, 1827. When three years of age, his parents came to
this country and settled in Philadelphia. In 1859 he married Miss Caroline
Eastbrook of Long Beach, N. J., and came to Wisconsin, settling on the
farm on which he has since resided.
Mrs. Keebler died Aug. 28, 1876, and since that time he has lived with
his daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Keebler were blessed with seven children of
whom five remain to mourn the death of their father; William T., of
Minneapolis; Charles H., of Milwaukee; Charles G., of Canada; G. J., of
Omaha, and Mrs. Carrie M. Beringer, who lives at the old homestead. There
are also seventeen grandchildren. Waukesha Freeman, Thursday, October

Beringer Funeral will Be Held Here Monday
Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie M. Beringer,Waukesha, will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. from the Randle funeral home. Mrs.Beringer passed away Wednesday at her home, 618 Oakland avenue, after a shortillness. the Rev. O. L. Merritt will be in charge of the services. Friends ofMrs. Beringer may call at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon and evening.Burial is to be in the Union Cemetery, town of Lisbon. Mrs. Beringer was born inthe town of Lisbon. Surviving are a son, Col. Lester E. Beringer, and agrandson, Jack, both of Denver, Colo., where Colonel Beringer is stationed withthe army medical corps.
