Lennon – Ó Leannáin. A number of western O’Leanáins (one ‘n’) eventually became Leonards. Lennan, Lennon, Lannan, Lannon, Linnane. Fermanagh, Mayo and Galway.
Lannon – A Kilkenny version of Lennon.
Lennon – Sometimes Lennan. From O’Leannáin (leann means cloak). Connected to the Galway Linnane. Most of this clan can be found in the Armagh, Down, north Louth area.

Was William living in Milwaukee in1850? Possibly working as a grocer? If Ann’s father was working as a butcher,perhaps that’s how they met? Had William’s first wife died already by August1850 (when Census was taken)? She’s not listed in 1850, or did he marry afterAugust 1850, and she died soon after?
In 1860 William is living in Merton,working as a miller, with his wife Ann, and son William, age 1. Next door is aJames Lannon age 50 living with a Thomas Martin, age 60, both of Ireland.
In Milford, Jefferson, Wisconsin was aJohn Lannon age 40, b. 1819 Ireland, who married a Prussian girl. This JohnLannon lived in Clinton, Rock, Wisconsin in 1870.
In Madison, Ward 4, Dane , Wisconsin,lived a Patrick Lannon, age 36, b. 1823 in Ireland.
