The Lisbon Town Board has voted to allow Debbie Ostrowski to operate the proposed Shooter’s Pub & Grill.

Ostrowski has been trying for more than four months to obtain approval for the pub at Town Line Road and Highway 74.

The unanimous vote Monday night ratified a Sept. 19 Plan Commission recommendation to issue an amended conditional use permit. The bar will have to open no earlier than 10 a.m. and close at normal tavern hours, and a fence will be required to close off traffic.

A bartender for 12 years in Lannon , Pewaukee and Menomonee Falls, Ostrowski said she planned to move the pub and grill into the first floor of the building. The existing archery shop run by Doug Hahn will move to the second floor, she said.

Ostrowski said she invested all of her savings into remodeling. But the ongoing controversy has kept her unemployed for three months, and she is concerned the delay has affected her fall pool and dart leagues. “Everything is going against me with all this waiting,” she said.

A public hearing was held Sept. 7, with vocal opposition to the business, although Ostrowski told the Plan Commission that the opposition was from less than 10 people out of 500 who live in the neighboring Willow Springs Mobile Home Park.

LISBON  – Child neglect

A 40-year-old man from Slinger was arrested on suspicion of child neglect charges June 12 after police discovered he had left his 10-year-old son in his car in the parking lot of Shooter’s Pub at W220-N6437 Town Line Road. Sheriff’s deputies reported they found the boy and his puppy at 1:40 a.m. waiting in the car after the man had gone into the bar to drink and play pool.
