A short time later his (George Podolske)business had outgrown the cramped rented space in the old furniture store. Hemoved into the building immediately west which remained the base of hisoperations for the next half century. this building, though gone now, willforever be known as the “Podolske Building”.
The structure had been used as a horseharness shop but with the coming of the auto that business had died. It had beenconverted to a pool hall by a Mr. Schiffman, but Sussex proved to be toopious for this supposed den of iniquity, and it too died, Mr. Schiffman, knownas a long talker, prevailed on Podolske to purchase the building on a landcontract type of transaction.
