Mrs. John Wildish, whose death occurred at her home in this city (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.), April 1, 1919, was born Aug. 15, 1852 at Menominee Falls, Wis. Her maiden name was Frances Henrietta Bancroft. She was a daughter of Francis and Laura Bancroft, who were New England people and relatives of George Bancroft, the noted historian.

She was married to John Wildish Feb. 24, 1873 in Waukesha Co. and came to Clark County two years later. They moved to their farm in Pine Valley, southeast of Neillsville, and there developed a beautiful and prosperous home. Mrs. Wildish was a real homemaker. In all that made for the comfort and happiness of the family, she was always ready and willing with busy hands and sympathetic heart. As a neighbor she was equally kind and helpful, and not alone by husband and children will her memory be cherished, but also by all who knew her. For many years she was an active member of the Rebekah Lodge.

She leaves to mourn her death her husband and six children: Capt. Allen

Wildish with the First Division in Germany; Everett in the Thirty-Second Division in Germany; George and Harry, who are farming in Montana, Mrs. Grace Seif, also in Montana, and Mrs. Laura Sweetland, of Belvidere, Ill. All except the sons overseas were home at her death and burial.

The funeral was held at the home last Thursday, Rev. L.B. Colman
