Sensation Band
John F Rickinger – August 9, 2017: Okay a few more memories moving into the HHS reunion weekend. In 1975 I teamed up with Don Fisher, Jeff Turnbull, Jeff Engle to form SENSATION. Don & Jeff E where doing a two some. By 1978 we changed a couple guys and where playing everywhere.
Joe Salamone out of Denver, had just formed the original “The Britins”. Our managers had us playing against each other everywhere since we both did great vocals and Beatles. We played a bigger variety and originals. Despite manager friction, Joe and I became great friends and sat in with each others bands.
In 1978 Don, Fred, Pat and I played as the opening act for Jazz great Stan Kenton at the Great Center Stage. Stan died a few weeks later.
The band was offered a recording contact, but I left for my creative career and family, the band lasted about 6 months. After that I founded Sound Investment with a few guys that went through a name change in 2005 to “Room to Move”. We are still going strong… ps we played HHS reunion last year. Ah memories…
